Greetings and peace in our Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Savior of the world,
Due to Father Michael Chika's unexpected departure for Onitsha, Nigeria, our Faith Formation program planned for St. Isidore the Farmer Parish has been postponed until Father Michael is able to return to the United States and to our parish.
In the meantime, God continues to call us to unite and to put our faith into action. We can learn to live our faith more fully and bear the good fruits of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5), by practicing our faith together.
The Holy Spirit is always calling us
– all single persons, married persons, widows, widowers, parents, grandparents, children, priests, religious, everyone
– to put our faith into action (Acts 1-2; James 2). One way we can do this is to join in prayer every Wednesday from 6:00-7:00pm at several of our parish churches to pray together in unison for the needs of our parish family:
- For Father William, who is undergoing cancer treatments, preparing for surgery, and doing his best with God's grace to serve the needs of our entire parish as our only priest...
- For Father Michael's safe travels to his home country, which is experiencing severe Christian persecution by radical Muslims, good visit with his mom and family, and timely renewal of his Visa so that he may return to our parish...
- For the needs of our families and friends...
- For the needs of our parish communities...
- For our personal needs....
- For God's mercy and goodness to shine through us, Saint Isidore the Farmer Parish family, during this difficult time in our parish...
- In thanksgiving to God for the blessings He gives to us each day: our life, families, friends, gifts and talents, faith, hope, love, God's Church, Word, Sacraments, His gift of prayer and communion of Saints...
During this time of challenges and struggles, let us join together as one united parish family, by the grace of God, picking up our cross and lifting one another up in prayer!
No registration is necessary. Just come every week and bring your family and friends to one of the churches hosting the prayer service. This is a parishioner-led event. Fellow parishioners will be leading the prayers at Holy Rosary, St. Matthew, and St. Philomena Churches simultaneously to magnify our prayers. Materials will be provided. If you are not able to attend in person, please pause for a few moments, during that hour, wherever you are to join us in prayer.
